Encyclopedia permissions
Encyclopedia permissions are assigned to roles. In turn, roles are assigned to Users. SACM also assigns permissions to the System Architect commands that roles can execute against encyclopedias.
An important concept to bear in mind is that you grant encyclopedia permissions to encyclopedia objects, not to the individual instances of those objects. For example, you can assign to Role_1 the Write permission to entity definitions. But for that role, you cannot explicitly assign the Write permission to Entity_X and explicitly deny it to Entity_Y. In other words, you assign permissions to object types, not instances of the types.
Encyclopedia permissions that you assign with SACM are as follows:

Apply to dependent definitions
The values assigned are also assigned to the underlying definitions of the symbols in that diagram.
Macro
Executable
Allows a macro to be executed.
Menu
Enabled
Causes a menu or menu option to become enabled.
Visible
Causes a menu or menu option to become visible.
