Setting access control : System Architect Catalog Manager : Permissions : Permission mapping

Permission mapping
The configuration file SAPROPS.CFG and the customization file USRPROPS.TXT determine the names and the types of diagrams and definitions displayed when you open an encyclopedia. When an encyclopedia is opened, System Architect parses those files and creates an XML map file of all diagrams and definitions. System Architect Catalog Manager takes that map file and uses it to populate the list of diagrams and definitions to which you can assign permissions.
You should also note the following about permission mapping:
Permission mapping does not hide unused definitions types. As a result, an encyclopedia configured for UML encyclopedia still displays definitions that are germane to other notations, such as BPMN.
Typically, enterprise level environments use the same USRPROPS.TXT across multiple encyclopedias. But if a different USRPRPS.TXT is used from one encyclopedia to another, then you should proceed cautiously when setting permissions, as diagrams and definitions will map differently, depending on the encyclopedia that you choose.
Permission mapping options
The Permission Mapping drop-down contains a map file for each encyclopedia, along with the <Default> and <None> options, all of which determine which diagrams and definitions to display. These options are described in the table below.
<Default>
The <Default> option displays the generic diagrams and definitions in use after the configuration file is parsed. It does not parse the user customization file.
<EncyclopediaName>
The <EncyclopediaName> option, where EncyclopediaName is your encyclopedia, displays the diagrams and definitions in use after SAPROPS.CFG and USRPROPS.TXT are parsed.
When selecting an encyclopedia, it must have been previously opened with an Enterprise version of System Architect. The same applies if changes are made to the property files, which occurs when an encyclopedia is opened with a newer version of System Architect, or when you make changes to the USRPROPS.TXT file.
