Configuring access rights for the SQL Server environment
Before users can connect to the Microsoft SQL server, an administrator must configure access rights. There are two ways of doing this:
▪using the System Architect Encyclopedia Manager
▪using SQL scripts.
When the product is installed a set of scripts is included to create the necessary tables, procedures, and functions of the encyclopedia database. Also included is a script to assign the rights to these items. These scripts contain all the items that make up a standard encyclopedia:
▪sqlTables.sql
▪sqlProcs.sql
▪sqlInserts.sql
A script named sqlRights.sql, grants all the necessary rights on these items that is equivalent to the SAUser database role, which is defined in System Architect Encyclopedia Manager.
