System Architect XT works with System Architect. In System Architect, users create encyclopedias, which are databases on Microsoft SQL Server. When encyclopedias are shared among multiple users, access to them is controlled via System Architect Catalog Manager. Such encyclopedias are classified as Enterprise Encyclopedias. System Architect XT publishes Enterprise Encyclopedias in a website. An encyclopedia that is not attached to an Enterprise Catalog is classified as a Professional Encyclopedia; this type can be shared amongst users, but cannot be published to a website by System Architect XT.
