Known install and uninstall issues
Because System Architect, System Architect XT and the System Architect Cognos Bridge share components, the sequence in which the products are installed and uninstall can cause issues.
Scenario 1
System Architect Cognos Bridge is installed and then install System Architect or System Architect XT on the same computer.
If System Architect Cognos Bridge is uninstalled first, System Architect or System Architect XT stops working. The reason is that common files are removed when System Architect Cognos Bridge is uninstalled. To resolve this issue, go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and repair System Architect or System Architect XT.
Scenario 2
System Architect or System Architect XT is installed, and then install the System Architect Cognos Bridge is installed on the same computer.
If System Architect or System Architect XT is uninstalled, the System Architect Cognos Bridge stops working. The reason is that the common files and the SARestWebservice are removed when System Architect or System Architect XT is uninstalled. To resolve this issue, uninstall and then re-install the System Architect Cognos Bridge.
Scenario 3
System Architect Cognos Bridge is installed followed by the installation of System Architect. This causes the SARESTWebService.exe and SARestWebService.config files to be include in both the System Architect Cognos Bridge installation directory and in the System Architect installation directory. This causes the SARestWebService to not work properly.
To resolve this issue, install System Architect first, and then install the System Architect Cognos Bridge. This ensures only one SARestWebService.config file for the SARestWebService is installed, in the System Architect installation directory.
