Upgrading from Focal Point 6.6 and 6.6.1
Before you begin
1 Back up the database and any custom business rules.
2 Back up the fp.property, server.startup.bat, and server.shutdown.bat files.
On upgrading from Focal Point® 6.6, these files are upgraded without any option to backup. After upgrading, the administrator can reapply the custom settings by referring to the backed up files.
3 Verify that your environment meets the system requirements: see Planning the installation.
If you are using a version of software that is no longer supported, you must upgrade to a version that is compatible with Focal Point®: see the documentation for that product.
4 If you are using an IBM DB2 or Oracle database, make sure that you created the database tables with the specified table space names for Focal Point®.
5 Download the installation package.
6 Make sure that the Focal Point® application server machine can communicate with the database server machine.
Procedure
1 In IBM Installation Manager, click File > Preferences.
2 On the Repositories page, click Add Repository and then specify the repository location as Focal Point package location/disk1.
3 Click OK.
4 Click Update, and then select Focal Point.
To install the Reporting Server, select Reporting Server. A separate JTS is not required to install Reporting Server. You can use an existing JTS. If you do not have a JTS installed, select the JTS listed. See the Reporting Server wiki for instructions to install and configure Focal Point® Reporting Server.
5 If an older version of IBM Installation Manager is installed, proceed with the update of IBM Installation Manager and then update Focal Point®.
6 Read the license agreement. If you agree with its terms, accept the license agreement, and then click Next.
7 In the Features page, click Next.
8 In the Common Configurations page, specify the web server details.
To use the Tomcat server that is included with Focal Point®, select Install Tomcat 7, and then click Next.
To use an existing Tomcat server, clear Install Tomcat 7. In the Location field, specify the location of the webapps directory of the existing tomcat application server. Click Next.
To use an existing IBM WebSphere Application Server, clear the Install Tomcat 7. In the Location field, specify the location to save the files for later deployment. Make sure that the location points to the same computer where the WebSphere Application Server is configured. Click Next.
The default location for the web application files for later deployment is:
Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\JazzTeamServer\server\webapps
Linux: /opt/IBM/JazzTeamServer/server/webapps
9 Review the post install information, and then click Next.
10 In the summary page, review your selections and click Install to begin the installation process.
A message confirms the completion of the process.
To verify the installation, click View Log File.
To close the Install wizard without verifying the installation, click Finish.
