Editing a traceability report template in Rational Publishing Engine
Before you can generate a traceability report, you must modify a predefined traceability report template in IBM Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio. You must update the data source configurations to reflect the user credentials for reporting in applications for the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM). The predefined report templates are in the Focal Point® installation directory:
Focal Point® installation directory\ReportTemplates\
Before you begin
Make sure that you have a supported version of Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio, version 1.1.2 or later, and a license to edit a report template. You can install Rational Publishing Engine on the same server as Focal Point®.
Create local copies of the traceability report templates in Focal Point® installation directory\ReportTemplates\. Keep the original templates for reference.
Make sure that you have the credentials for the users who are configured for reporting in the CLM applications.
Procedure
1 In Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio, click File > Open Document Template.
2 Browse to your local copy of the applicable traceability report template, such as FPProj-FPBusNeeds-RRC-StatOfCompliance.dta, and then click OK.
3 In the data source configuration, in the username and password properties for each dynamic data source that is outside of Focal Point®, enter the credentials for the report users for the CLM applications. The dynamic data sources that are outside of Focal Point® begin with any of these prefixes: RRC, RTC, or RQM.
4 Make sure that the container query strings correspond to the attribute names in Focal Point®. For example, in this query string of the FP_BusN container, the attribute name is Requirements:
Business_Needs/attributes/Requirements/calmLink/calmLinkEntry/link
5 If the Integration link or Link list attribute names in Focal Point® differ from the attribute names in the container query strings of the report template, update the container query string according to the attribute name. Add new containers with the new attribute names, and then manually add the subsequent information.
6 When you build the new data source configuration, use the original traceability report templates that are included with Focal Point® for reference. For more information, see Adding a container element in IBM Knowledge Center.
7 Save the template.
What to do next
