Adding an application that supports REST

To integrate with an application that supports RESTful APIs, you must add that application as a friend in Focal Point^®.

Procedure

1 In Focal Point^®, from the user menu, select Administration.

2 Click Application > Friends (Outbound).

3 Click Add Friend.

4 In the Add Friend window, add the application details:

Property	Description
Name	A name for the connection.
Root Services URI	The application root services URL. To connect to an application that supports RESTful APIs, type the application URL.
Authentication Type	Select the type of authentication.
	For Basic, also type the login credentials of the user who has access to the application.
	For OAuth, also type the consumer key and secret that was generated in your OAuth application

5 Click Test Connection, and then click Yes.

The first time you test the connection, you must log on to the application. The results of the test are displayed in the Add Friend window.

6 Click Save to add the friend.

The friend application is listed in the Server Friends List page.
