A Gantt chart is a horizontal bar chart that displays activities and the possible relationships between the activities. Gantt charts are frequently used in project management as illustrations of a schedule that are used to plan, coordinate, and track specific tasks in a project.
Displaying dates, links, and histogram in a Gantt chart
In Gantt charts, you can choose which links and attributes to display.
▪ The Dates area displays all of the date attributes that are in the view. The date attributes are grouped by module. If you display links to other modules, their date attributes are also displayed. Select the date attributes to display in the Gantt area. To select or clear all dates, click the .
▪ You can display links, such as dependencies and relationships between the elements. The date attributes from linked elements are displayed under Dates. To select or clear all links, click .
▪ In the Histogram area, all of the time grid, integer and float attributes in the view are displayed. Select the integer and float attributes to display in the Histogram area. To select or clear all values, click .
Displaying time grid data in a Gantt chart
You can display time grid data in a Gantt chart as a histogram of a supply and demand view. A summary of the time grid values of all the elements is displayed in the histogram.
You can select the sheet and rows to include in the Gantt chart and can move the projects to a different time span. The time grid data shifts when the date attribute that is referenced as the start date or end date of the time grid changes. When you move the project to another month or change the project duration, the histogram changes accordingly. The data in time grid is in months, quarters, or years.
Time grid data cannot be used in value settings along with other attributes such as integer or float.
1 In the Gantt chart view, click the Histogram tab.
2 Select the time grid attributes, and then click OK.
The histogram of the project for the selected time grid values is displayed.
3 To remove the values of a project from the histogram, clear the check box of the project.
