Generating reports
If you use reports that are in the style of Focal Point®, you can generate reports in .rtf or .pdf format. If you use reports that are in the style of IBM Rational Publishing Engine, you can generate reports in .doc, .pdf and .html formats.
Before you begin
Before you generate reports that are based on more than one element, you must add a report template and create a report type.
Restriction In RTF reports, you can display multiple files in JPG and PNG image formats only.
Procedure
1 Click the Settings icon Settings icon, and then, from the Configure group, click Generate Report.
2 Click a report.
A form is displayed. The form is based on the specified report template and report type.
3 Complete the form.
4 Click Generate Report.
The report is generated differently depending on the setting of the report target:
Target
Report generated
Focal Point®
You click a link to download the report in the selected format.
Rational Publishing Engine
You click a link to download a compressed file that includes the .doc, .pdf, and .html formats of the report.
Telelogic Publishing Engine
You click a link to download the compressed file. The compressed files of Telelogic Publishing Engine reports contain data source only. To complete the report, extract the content of the compressed file to a local folder, and then start Rational Publishing Engine.
Attributes with the LinkInfo business rule cannot be displayed in reports.
Note If Rational Publishing Engine report generation is found impacted after upgrading from an earlier version of Focal Point®, select Application > Data access, and then disable Enable REST field selection.
