Installing : Installing Focal Point

Installing Focal Point
A number of steps are required to install Focal Point.
Before starting
1 Get the installation package: Contact Focal Point Support (focalpoint.support@unicomsi.com), who will give you access to the FTP site from which you can download the installation package.
You also need a license file: make sure that this is for the computer on which you will install the UNICOM license server (which might be a different computer from the one on which you install Focal Point).
2 Make sure that your computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements to install Focal Point.
See System requirements.
3 Make sure that you have administrator access to the server.
4 Make sure that computers on which you want to install Focal Point, the database server, and the license server can communicate with each other.
Differences from earlier versions
If you have used earlier versions of Focal Point, note that:
This version does not use an installation program
This version checks licenses by using the UNICOM License server, not the Rational License server.
