You can generate reports based on templates that are authored in IBM Rational Publishing Engine or Jasper Report Studio. You can also generate reports in external report tools by using an authenticated XML export.
To author a report template in Rational Publishing Engine, you need a separate Rational Publishing Engine license and installation.
Generating reports that are based on Rational Publishing Engine report templates
1 In Rational Publishing Engine, author a report template as a .dta file.
2 In Focal Point, add the .dta file as a report template.
3 In a Focal Point workspace, the workspace administrator can create a report type, and then users can generate reports.
