Traceability reporting for applications of the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management
Traceability reports trace linked artifacts across a project lifecycle. You can use predefined report templates to generate traceability reports about the elements, requirements, test artifacts, and defects of selected projects.
Focal Point includes three predefined report templates for traceability reporting. To adjust these templates to work with applications for the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM), a license for IBM Rational Publishing Engine is required. However, that license is not required to run the reports from Focal Point.
The predefined report templates are as follows:
Statement of Compliance
With this report, you can determine which requirements are linked to business needs in your Focal Point projects. The report displays the relationships between these components:
▪ high-level elements in Focal Point, such as projects
▪ linked elements in Focal Point, such as business needs
▪ linked requirements in the Requirements Management (RM) application.
Statement of Verification
With this report, you can view the results of tests that are based on requirements that link to business needs in your Focal Point projects. You can also determine any defects that correspond to those tests. The report displays the relationships between these components:
▪ high-level elements in Focal Point, such as projects
▪ linked elements in Focal Point, such as business needs
▪ linked requirements in the RM application
▪ linked test cases in the Quality Management application for the
▪ related execution records with test environment in the Quality Management application
▪ execution results in the Quality Management application
▪ related defects in the Change and Configuration Management (CCM) application.
Release Readiness Report
With this report, you can determine the defects for requirements that correspond to business needs in your Focal Point projects. The report displays the relationships between these components:
▪ high-level elements in Focal Point, such as projects
▪ linked elements in Focal Point, such as business needs
