Managing products and portfolios : Configuring attributes : Adding attributes

Adding attributes
Procedure
1 Click the Settings icon Settings icon, and then, from the Configure group, click Attributes. The available modules are listed.
2 Select the module to which to add an attribute. If no link is displayed for a module, you cannot change the attribute setup for that module.
Example: System modules such as Members.
3 Click Add Attribute.
The list of attributes that can be added to the module are displayed.
4 Click an attribute type or select a global attribute from the list.
Global attributes are displayed only if the administrator has defined any global attributes.
5 In the settings fields, specify details about the attribute.
For more information about specifying attribute characteristics, see Attribute settings.
6 Click OK.
7 Select the views in which the attribute must be editable, visible, or hidden.
Using the drop-down menu, you can set the access level for the selected attribute to match the access level of another attribute in all views. This option is useful if there are a large number of views, and the access levels of attributes are different in different views.
If you select Editable or Visible, specify if you want the attribute to be included in or excluded from any global or private filters that are based on that view.
The option to include an attribute in private filters, or exclude an attribute from private filters is available only in Focal Point 6.6.0.1 and later. In the previous releases of Focal Point, new attributes are added to the private filters of the selected views.
8 Click Update Views.
The attribute is included in, or excluded from the views and filters based on the selections made.
9 Optional: For an overview of the module configuration, click Configuration Overview.
