The settings on the Text Fields tab in the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add‑on Options dialog box determine the properties of the text fields that are created in ReadSoft FORMS Manager when you run the Transfer to Scanning Software command in UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add‑on.

Specify the options that you want for all or most text fields. If any text fields require different or additional property settings, go into ReadSoft FORMS and make the changes manually after you have run the Transfer to Scanning Software command.

Select this option to define open-ended response fields as ReadSoft FORMS character fields. This means that ReadSoft FORMS attempts to recognize and interpret the characters in the scanned responses.

Select this option to define open-ended response fields as ReadSoft FORMS image fields. This means that ReadSoft FORMS does not make any attempt to interpret the scanned responses.

Regardless of which option you choose here, you can choose to export images of the responses using UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add‑on Transfer. This means that you can use another product to check, transcribe, or code the responses.

Causes ReadSoft FORMS Verify to display responses that do not have any text in them.

Select this if you want to code or transcribe image field responses or check the interpretation of character field responses in ReadSoft FORMS.

Controls the circumstances under which ReadSoft FORMS prompts you to enter additional information in an associated field. UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add‑on Transfer ignores data in text field complements. So if you are using UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Paper/Scan Add‑on Transfer to export the scanned data from ReadSoft FORMS, deselect these options.
