Translation Utility allows you to work with a variety of languages, without having to change the system language.
For example, on an English-language based Windows system, you can view and edit Japanese by doing this:
From the Windows Start menu, choose Settings > Control Panel > Regional Options.
Select Japanese in Language Settings (you may need access to the installation disk to do this).
Set Japanese as the Default Language.
Restart the computer.
Start Translation Utility, and then open an .mdd file.
In the Tools menu, use Add/Remove Languages to Include Japanese.
Select the new Japanese column.
In Translation Utility, choose Edit > Fonts > Current Language.
Select MS Mincho (sometimes displayed as Japanese) as the Font.
Select Japanese as the Script, and then click OK.
