Configuring multiple session engines
You can configure multiple session engines in order to best utilize the memory on each UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server computer. When you select to install the Interview Service feature, the Interview Session Engine Configuration dialog displays and provides options for configuring the number or session engines for each selected UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server.
When a cluster type installation is selected, the Machine Name list displays all Interview Servers defined in the cluster. On the remaining cluster computers, the Machine Name list displays only the current computer name (the number of session engines can be configured separately on each cluster computer). When a single-computer installation is selected, the computer list only displays the current computer name.
1 Select the appropriate computer names from the Machine Name list.
2 Enter the number of sessions engines for the selected Machine Name. the number must be in the range of 1 to 64.
3 Click Update. The selected computer names are updated to work with the defined number of session engines.
In a cluster environment, if you do not want to manually modify the number of session engines on each computer:
4 Modify the cluster configuration on the primary server.
5 On the remaining cluster computers, modify the installation according to the modified cluster configuration (defined on the primary server).
You must manually update the session engine configuration on each Accessories Server when the number of session engines is modified directly on each cluster computer.
On each accessories server, you must manually update the ALTERNATE_INTERVIEW_ENGINES section in the server’s web.config for the CatiInt and ReviewInterview activities. For example:
<add key="ALTERNATE_INTERVIEW_ENGINES" value="http://IBM-R8XGL30/mrIEngWS,http://mycomputer/mrIEngWS1,http://IBM-R8XGL31/mrIEngWS"/>
