Metadata Model to Quantum
Use Metadata Model to Quantum to define card and column definitions and to export a basic Quantum specification for your UNICOM Intelligence data. Metadata Model to Quantum is included with the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model.
Defining card column definitions
Metadata Model to Quantum writes card column definitions to a questionnaire definition (.mdd) file (also known as the UNICOM Intelligence Metadata Document file), which you create using the UNICOM Intelligence authoring tools. You can set of card and column specifications to meet your data and analysis requirements.
Exporting Quantum specification
Writing a Quantum specification to analyze data, or to generate a Quanvert database, is a complex and time-consuming task. Using Metadata Model to Quantum reduces the time it takes and the likelihood of errors by setting up axis and tab statements for the questions in your questionnaire definition. The Quantum spec writer can then change these specifications to create the precise analysis that is required.
Metadata Model to Quantum reads and writes the card column definitions in the questionnaire definition (.mdd) file, also known as the UNICOM Intelligence metadata document file.
Typical scenario
Metadata Model to Quantum is typically used with Quantum DSC, which exports case data to a Quantum ASCII file using the card, column, and punch information held in the questionnaire definition (.mdd) file. When you want to analyze your UNICOM Intelligence data in Quantum, follow these steps:
1 Use Metadata Model to Quantum to define the card and column definitions in the questionnaire definition.
2 Use Metadata Model to Quantum to export the Quantum specification.
3 If necessary, change the Quantum specification as required.
4 Use Quantum DSC to write your case data to a Quantum format ASCII .dat file and, depending on the questionnaire, a .dau overflow file containing the open-ended responses.
5 If necessary, code the open-ended responses using a compatible coding tool.
6 Run your Quantum specification against the .dat file.
