A Look contains two sections:

The Question section or Information section typically contains the text of the question or information item. It might also contain the name or short name of the item; instructions; standard phrases, such as “Select all that apply”; and data entry notation.

The answer section is where interviewers or respondents indicate the answer to the question. The answer section varies from question type to question type. In categorical Looks, it contains the category list and the mark fields that the respondent circles or checks to indicate the chosen category. In numeric and open-ended Looks, it contains a character field where respondents write their answers. Information items do not have an answer portion.
