Setting up the RDB Short Drinks project
To do this, you must have:
access permissions for creating UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin projects and using the Manage Files activity
access to a SQL Server installation and appropriate user access rights. The database comes as a SQL Server backup
SQL Server Client Tools to restore the backup.
1 Restore the backed-up database.
For more information, see Restoring the Short Drinks sample database.
Next, create the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin project, and then upload the sample .mdd file.
2 Click the New Project button This graphic is described in the surrounding text.
The New Project dialog opens.
3 In the Project Type list, select Analyze existing data.
4 In the Name box, enter the project's name as you want it to appear in the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin project list, for example, Short Drinks.
This name is for display purposes only and can be changed at any time during the project's life cycle.
5 In the Description box, enter a description of the project, and then click OK.
The project is created using the default settings, and the Upload Existing Data dialog appears.
6 In the Data Type list, select Other.
7 Click Browse, and then go to the location where the Short Drinks .mdd file is installed. By default, this is:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\Data\Mdd
8 Select the short_drinks.mdd file. The file uploads. You are asked whether you want to change the name of the .mdd file to match the Project ID. Click No. When the upload is complete, the name of the file appears in the File(s) uploaded list.
9 Click Finish. You are prompted to edit the project properties to set the connection string. Click OK.
10 On the toolbar at the top of the My Projects list, click the Edit Project button This graphic is described in the surrounding text.
The Edit Project activity opens.
11 Click the Connection tab, and then click Edit. This displays the Connection tab of the Data Link Properties dialog.
12 In the Metadata Type list, select UNICOM Intelligence Metadata Document.
13 Click Browse next to the MetaData Location field. Select the short_drinks.mdd file, and then click Select.
14 From the Case Data Type list, select UNICOM Intelligence Database (MS SQL Server).
15 If necessary, type short_drinks in the Case Data Project box.
16 Click OK, and then click the Home button This graphic is described in the surrounding text. to close EditProject.
This creates the project and adds it to the list of UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin projects.
