Changing the category order in a variable

You can change the category order in a variable, either for all tables that use the variable or for a specific table.

Changing the category order for all tables

The changes are applied to any existing tables that include the variable next time you populate them, provided you have not used the Edit Axis dialog (see Edit Axis dialog) to specify how the variable is to appear in any of those tables.

1 Click the Define tab.

2 In the Variable List, select the variable you want to change, and then click Variables > Edit.

The Edit Variable dialog opens: see Edit Variable dialog.

3 To move a category, click it, and then click Move Up or Move Down.

Use Ctrl+click and Shift+click to select multiple categories.

4 Click OK.

Changing the category order in the current table

1 In the Table List, select the required table, and then click the Define tab.

2 In the Table Definition section, select the variable that you want to change.

3 Click the Edit Axis icon This graphic is described in the surrounding text.

on the Table Definition toolbar.

The Edit Axis dialog opens: see Edit Axis dialog.

4 To move a category, click it, and then click Move Up or Move Down.

Use Ctrl+click and Shift+click to select multiple categories.

5 Click OK.
