Setting up the SAV Employee data project
This topic describes how to create a UNICOM Intelligence Reporter - Survey Tabulation project that uses the Employee Data sample IBM SPSS Statistics .sav file.
To do this, you must have access permissions for creating UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin projects and using the Manage Files activity.
These instructions do not include creating an .mdd file for use in the project, because the Employee Data sample is very small. Creating an .mdd file is recommended when the .sav file contains a large number of variables. For more information, see Setting up the Quanvert Museum project.
1 On the toolbar at the top of the My Projects list, click the New Project button This graphic is described in the surrounding text..
The New Project dialog opens.
2 From the Project Type list, select Analyze existing data.
3 In the Name box, enter the project’s name as you want it to appear in the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin project list, for example, Employee Data. This name is for display purposes only and can be changed at any time during the project's life cycle.
4 In the Description box, enter a description of the project, and then click OK.
The project is created using the default settings, and the Upload Existing Data dialog appears.
5 In the Data Type list, select IBM SPSS Statistics File (SAV).
6 Click Browse, and then go to the folder where the Employee Data .sav file is. By default, this is:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\Data\Sav
7 Select the Employee data.sav file. The file uploads, and then its name appears in the File(s) uploaded list.
8 See Completing the set up.
