Samples in the DDL
The DDL comes with numerous samples. By default, the samples are installed in the following folder:
[INSTALL_FOLDER]\IBM\SPSS\DataCollection\7\DDL\
On Windows Vista 64-bit: See Troubleshooting the DDL.
This folder has the following subfolders:
Administration Tools
Various files, described in the DDL documentation, that can be used when setting up UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin and UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server.
Code
Includes sample code in a number of programming languages (Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic .NET, Visual C++, Visual C#). For more information, see Sample code in the DDL .
Data
Includes the Museum sample in several different formats (including UNICOM Intelligence Data File, Quanvert database, Surveycraft database, and Triple-S files), the Short Drinks and Household sample data sets in several different formats, and sample Quantum .dat and IBM SPSS Statistics .sav files. For more information, see Sample data.
Documentation
Contains the executable used to launch the IBM SPSS Data Collection Developer Library help system.
ISA rebranding
Contains samples that can be used to rebrand the UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer - Server Admin user interface.
Outputs
Stores the output when you run the sample scripts.
Scripts
Includes sample interview, table and data management scripts, and some general mrScriptBasic and mrScriptMetadata samples. For more information, see Sample scripts in the DDL.
Use the samples as a starting point when you develop your own tools, applications, scripts, and so on. However, work on a copy of the samples rather than working on the sample files directly. This means you avoid losing your work when you uninstall or upgrade to a new version of the DDL.
Tivoli agent
The Tivoli agent sample is the UNICOM Intelligence project monitoring agent for Tivoli and is used to monitor the UNICOM Intelligence project performance counters. The sample is available in both x86 32-bit and x64 64-bit versions.
XML schemas
Stores copies of the XML Schema (.xsd) files that are used by various UNICOM Intelligence components and that are described in the DDL documentation.
Note
If you are a non-administrator Windows user and you want to open a sample metadata document (.mdd) file using the UNICOM Intelligence Metadata Model to Quantum, UNICOM Intelligence Metadata Model Version Utility, or MDM Label Manager accessories that are installed with the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model, you must copy (not move) the .mdd file to a folder in which you are permitted to create files and then open the new file. If you try to open the original file, an “Access is denied” error message appears.
