Intermediate Events occur between a Start Event and an End Event. An intermediate event is an event that occurs after a Process has been started. Intermediates represent a pause or a delay in the process. Objects are held for a minimum time and optionally a maximum time. An Intermediate event has a trigger that defines the cause for the event.
Note Intermediate Events cannot send messages, they can only receive them.
