Specifying how many objects enter a process at a time
You specify the rate at which Objects enter a process in the Sim Definition tab of an Object definition.
There are three Arrival Types to choose from. By default, the Arrival Profile choice is toggled on. If you change the selection, you must click Apply to display the appropriate arrival tab.
Allows you to specify that the arrival profile is a constant rate. You can specify that this constant rate is made up of individual constant rates for time periods that make up an 8- or 24-hour day. You specify the quantity and duration values of individual time profiles of arriving objects in the Sim Arrival Profiles tab.
Select this option, and then click Apply to add the Sim Arrival Profiles tab to the Object definition.
In the Sim Arrival Profiles tab, you can create Sim Arrival times to simulate a working 8 hour or 24 hour day, depending on how you would like to model things.
Multiplier (%)
The multiplier facility allows you to easily change the volume of entities arriving for the overall time period, without needing to go in and adjust the Quantity of your Arrival Profiles. For example, to specify 10 percent more entities generated per period in the arrival profile, you would enter 110%. When you run the simulation, SA/Viewer multiplies each cell in the Quantity column in the Arrival Profile grid by this percentage multiplier number (without changing the original numbers in the Quantity cells). This saves time when you are experimenting with your model, as you can vary the quantity of entities arriving in the model without having to edit each Quantity cell.
Inter Arrival Time
Enables you to specify that Objects arrive at regular time intervals a (for example, that a car arrives every 5 time units).
Select this option, and then click Apply, to add the Sim Inter Arrival tab to the Object definition.
