You can create a hierarchy diagram by drawing nodes close to the destination location. After you place a node, the hierarchy tree adjusts to fit the node. You can also drag definitions from Explorer to the diagram.
1 Create or open a hierarchy diagram.
For example, you might create a Process Hierarchy diagram.
2 Add symbols to the diagram surface by performing any of the following steps:
•In the Draw toolbar, select a shape; then click the diagram surface. The shape is added to the diagram.
•In the Explorer, in the Definition group, drag objects to the diagram. The new node is automatically laid out in the hierarchy tree with the new node in the correct position.
You can search for existing definitions and symbols by using wildcard symbols.
3 To move symbols into hierarchical relationships, click DrawSelect Mode; then drag a symbol into position under another symbol or in an existing hierarchy. A dotted line shows the target location for the moved symbol. Drop the symbol when the insertion point is correct.
After you place the symbol, the hierarchy tree adjusts to fit the node.
