You use the Logical Data Model to document the data requirements and structural business process rules of the architecture's operational view. It describes the data and information that is associated with the information exchanges of the architecture, in the scope and to the level of detail required for the purposes of the architecture.
You can choose from two different diagram types to model the logical data model: the Entity Relation diagram type, or the IDEF1X diagram type.

Relationships to DoDAF 2 Metamodel (DM2)
•Entities can be associated with any DM2 element through the Association property on the DoDAF 2 tab. Entities can be associated with a list of rules through the Rules property on the DoDAF 2 tab.
•Data Elements can be associated with any DM2 element through the Association property on the DoDAF 2 tab.
