The OV-04 Organizational Relationships Chart is a hierarchy diagram, which describes the relationships between organizational resources.
Specifically, for the DoDAF 2 metamodel, a Resource has Performer as a subtype, and two types of Performers are Organization and Person.
Note To align the lines that come together underneath the parent symbol, turn on the diagram grid feature, and then adjust the settings of the grid. With the diagram open and in focus, select Format > Diagram Format > Grid and Reduced View to open the Grid & Reduced View Settings dialog box. Select Line Grid.
In the picture above, the diagram grid has been made visual. To enable this, select Format, Diagram Format, Display Options to open the Display Options dialog, and toggle the Grid option under the Display group.
The OV-04 diagram enables you to model the following artifacts:
•Organization: Organization is a type of Performer, which is a type of Resource.
•Person: Person is a type of Performer, which is a type of Resource.
•Performer: Performer is a type of Resource. It has subtypes Organization and Person.
•MemberOfOrganization relationship line: The MemberOfOrganization relationship can be drawn from any kind of Performer (including Person and Organization), to an Organization (which is a type of Performer). The line must end at an artifact of type Organization.
•PersonPartOfPerformer relationship line: The PersonPartOfPerformer relationship can be drawn from a Person artifact, to any Performer artifact, including Organization, or another Person.
