In Creating and defining a UPI code, you created a UPI code, and included it in the Investment definition. Now, you are going to run the UPI Code Consistency Report.
E300: Reference Model Consistency Reports
For each System/Application, the report shows the last six digits of the UPI that is assigned to the E300. These are meaningful digits as they are supposed to correspond to the numeric identifiers of the Business Area, Line of Business and the Primary Sub-Function for the E300 and the corresponding System/Application. Given that different groups are often responsible for different sections of an E300, inconsistencies can occur.
There are a number of data fields in an Exhibit 300 that must be consistent with data chosen from the Reference Models. In order to help users identify potential inconsistencies, a number of analysis and consistency checking reports will be supplied in the future. As a current example, one such consistency report; E300 UPI vs Primary BRM Sub-Function is provided.
In the following report example below, the _Example IRMA System/Application has a problem in that the last 6 digits of the E300's UPI do not match the set of BRM Line of Business (the OMB XML includes the BRM Business Area as the first digit in addition to the two-digit Line of Business ID). This inconsistency would need to be investigated and resolved before submitting the E300 to OMB.
The DHHS application, on the other hand, has a consistent mapping with all six UPI digits matching the Line of Business and Sub-Function IDs.
