CPM Need definition
You can create a Collaborative Planning Method (CPM) Need definition through the tree Explorer (browser) or other standard System Architect techniques.
The CPM Need definition is a central fulcrum of the Collaborative Planning Method – in it you specify:
Measures
Specify one or more measurement instances for how you the need should be measured. For each Measurement Instance, you specify the Measurement Set it belongs to, and the Measurement Type.
Providers
Specify one or more other Agencies or Departments within Agencies that can possibly provide a solution to the need, through an existing service or product that they own. You might specify one or more Service Providers, and then in each Service Provider definition, specify if that agency or department:
Has already met the need
Has a similar need
Has no similar need
Is planning to meet the need
Drivers
Specify one or more drivers for the need. Each driver is a CPM Driver definition type, within which you can add details for the Driver (and reuse it for other needs in the repository).
Assumptions
Specify one or more assumptions for the need. Each assumption is a CPM Assumption definition type, within which you can add details for the Assumption (and reuse it for other needs in the repository).
Constraints
Specify one or more constraints for the need. Each constraint is a CPM Constraint definition type, within which you can add details for the constraint (and reuse it for other needs in the repository).
Next step
Including CPM Needs in a CPM Line of Sight definition (see CPM Line of Sight).
