The System Architect for SOA solution provides a set of configuration files, images, matrices, and definitions that need to be incorporated into each encyclopedia in preparation for modeling with the System Architect for SOA solution. An encyclopedia is prepared by loading the metamodel into the encyclopedia. This needs to be carried out just one time against an encyclopedia and can be performed at any time: good practice is to do this when you create the encyclopedia.
1 Create an encyclopedia. Make sure that “Enterprise Architecture” and “BPMN” model support is selected.
2 To load the metamodel, click Tools > Application Landscape Tools > Load Metamodel.
3 Click Yes to re-open the encyclopedia when prompted.
Reloading the metamodel also reloads the default analytics, complex analytic queries, and analytic parameters.
If you have created metamodel extensions through the USRPROPS.txt file, note that this solution renames the definition type “Business Service” to “Service”; if you want to modify this definition type in your extensions, you can either refer to the type name “Service” or rename the definition back to “Business Service”.
