Grids can be enabled in dialog menus by using the ASGRID command. The grid enables users to view and edit an item’s properties on one screen. Users can edit properties directly on the grid, or open the item’s full definition by select it, and then clicking Define.
The grid presents all of the underlying properties to an item except for text properties greater than 100 characters: the user needs to open the full definition to access such properties.
Dialogs with grids in them take longer to open than other dialogs, because the grid presents the actual definition of each item. For example, when you open the definition of a class with 30 methods, System Architect opens all 30 methods.
