Configuring access rights for the SQL Server environment
Before users can connect to the Microsoft SQL server, an administrator must configure access rights. There are two ways of doing this:
using the System Architect Encyclopedia Manager
using SQL scripts.
When the product is installed a set of scripts is included to create the necessary tables, procedures, and functions of the encyclopedia database. Also included is a script to assign the rights to these items. These scripts contain all the items that make up a standard encyclopedia:
sqlTables.sql
sqlProcs.sql
sqlInserts.sql
A script named sqlRights.sql, grants all the necessary rights on these items that is equivalent to the SAUser database role, which is defined in System Architect Encyclopedia Manager.
To use encyclopedias in the System Architect XT Reader mode, use the scripts that are in:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect\SQLServer\Libnet
Use the same sqlRights.sql script as the one in this directory:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect\SQLServer
For encyclopedias that are workspace enabled, use the scripts in:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect\SQLServer\Workspaces
Use the same sqlRights.sql script as the one in this directory:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\System Architect\SQLServer
