System Architect has two integrations to UNICOM Focal Point®:
•SA integration to Focal Point® through OSLC (see below.)
•SA integration to Focal Point® through a data-exchange integration.
SA-Focal Point® Integration through OSLC
The SA-Focal Point® integration is set up by creating provider and consumer friendship relationships between a System Architect encyclopedia or workspace and a Focal Point® workspace.
When the friendship on both sides has been setup, you can create links from System Architect artifacts to Focal Point® artifacts, while in System Architect or while in Focal Point®.
To create a link in System Architect
1 Right-mouse click on any definition, diagram, or symbol, and choose Link to Requirement in the popup window.
2 Select one or more artifacts in Focal Point®.
3 When a link is established, a purple arrowhead is provided in System Architect. You can hover over the link to bring up a live summary of the information in Focal Point® that has been linked, and click on the title of the summary to open that information in Focal Point®.
4 When a link has been created on the System Architect side, to Focal Point®, an OSLC Link definition type is created in the encyclopedia (visualized as a yellow chain link, below). You can navigate to these definitions in the Explorer tree, report on them (through standard reporting or on the Explorer diagram, example below), or use the References pane to track them (select View > References with a diagram open).
