Architecting and designing : MODAF : Migration from earlier product and MODAF versions

Migration from earlier product and MODAF versions
The goal of migration is for you to be able to continue to work in the current version of the product with projects that you developed in earlier versions.
In previous versions of System Architect, the MODAF modeling resources are based upon an earlier version of the modeling feature or framework. When an encyclopedia from a previous release is opened, you can choose to migrate it to the latest version of the MODAF feature.
As part of the migration, the settings applied to the encyclopedia are upgraded to the latest version.
MODAF configuration changes
In previous versions of the MODAF modeling feature, when you selected the MODAF in an encyclopedia, UML modeling was enabled by default. In the current version, when you configure an encyclopedia for MODAF modeling, the UML capability is cleared by default.
Note For new encyclopedias configured for MODAF, you can enable support for UML and the associated diagram types in the System Architect Property Configuration dialog box.
MODAF diagram type changes
In the latest version of the MODAF modeling feature, the SV-12 Service Provision diagram has been updated by enhancing the modeling behavior of the Service Level line, which is drawn between a Service and a Resource Type.
The behavior of the SV-12 diagram in previous feature versions is still available as SV-12 Service Provision (Deprecated). You can enable the deprecated version of the diagram by opening the System Architect Property Configuration dialog box, and then clicking Advanced to open the Configure Property Set dialog box.
These diagrams have been updated in the current product version:
SV-02a Resource Port Specification
SV-02b Resource Port Connectivity Description
SV-02c Resource Connectivity Clusters
SV-12 Service Provision
SOV-02 Service Interface Specification
SOV-05 Service Functionality
Note For existing encyclopedias, the new diagram types are only available if you upgrade the property set and reapply the default settings. If the settings for the currently selected framework have changed, you are prompted to reapply the default configuration. Click Yes to use the product as recommended.
