Relating operational nodes to other artifacts
Once you have populated an operational node definition with related capabilities, services, locations, and others, you can graphically show how operational nodes are related to these artifacts by using the Explorer diagram.
To relate operational nodes to other artifacts
1 Create a new diagram of type Explorer.
2 From the browser, drag the definitions you are interested in onto the diagram.
When dragged onto a diagram, definitions are represented in containers for their definition type.
To change the size of the definition container without changing the size of the symbols in it, press Shift+Ctrl+Alt while dragging the handlebars of the container symbol.
3 In the browser, find the definition type “Explorer Relationship Report”, and expand the selection.
4 Drag the Explorer Relationship Report named “All Immediate Uses Relationships” onto the diagram.
A report runs that will place lines on the diagram between definitions that use each other.
5 You can change the color of the Explorer Relationship line on Page 2 of the Explorer Relationship Report definition; rerun it on the diagram to refresh the report and change the color of the line.
The following image shows an example of an Explorer diagram.
