Creating SV-12 Service Provision diagrams for MODAF
While the Service Oriented Views (SOVs) in MODAF enable you to model services from an implementation independent view (what a service is to do and how it presents its functionality to consumers), you use the SV-12 view to specify how a service is to be implemented in an architecture, by mapping the service to the resources that provide it. You can use the SV-12 Service Provision diagram to model the SV-12.
In System Architect 11.4.0.1, updates to the Service Provision diagram are introduced. The new diagram retains the name “SV-12 Service Provision” and is available by default in encyclopedias configured for MODAF modeling. The old version of the diagram, which is still available to be enabled, has been renamed “SV-12 Service Provision (Deprecated).”
1 To enable the deprecated version of the Service Provision diagram, do this:
Click Tools > Customize Method Support > Encyclopedia Configuration.
In the System Architect Property Configuration dialog box, click the Advanced button.
In the Available section, in the Diagrams list, select SV-12 Service Provision.
The new diagram type, “SV-12 Service Provision V2,” is enabled by default.
Click Add.
Click OK > OK.
Reopen the encyclopedia.
2 Right-click the Diagrams group of the Explorer, and then click New.
3 In the Select New Type for All Methods dialog box, select one of these diagrams:
SV-12 Service Provision
SV-12 Service Provision (Deprecated)
4 Click OK.
5 Type a name for the diagram; then click OK.
