Modeling NCV-2 Capability Taxonomy diagrams for NAF 3
The Capability Taxonomy (NCV-2) View enables you to build a structured list of capabilities and sub-capabilities (known as capability functions) that are required in a capability area during a certain Period of Time. These capabilities support the Enterprise Vision that you have specified in the Capability Vision View (NCV-1).
The NCV-2 diagram enables you to think hierarchically; you can capture and organize Capabilities to show their composition in a treelike structure.
Each capability is, where necessary, subdivided into sub-capabilities and functions, in order to provide clarity and the appropriate level of granularity required by subsequent processes in the capability management process. All terms used in the NCV-2 should be expressed only in non-Platform specific based terms. Terms should be military capability-based, not equipment-focused. An NCV-2 Product should be developed for each period of time of interest.
