Specifying NSV-1 resource hierarchy (NAF 3)
You can specify the hierarchical relationship of resources to one another on the NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy diagram.
1 The NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy is a hierarchical-type diagram, which includes automatic connection features when you draw. To connect one symbol to another symbol, do this:
Place one symbol on the diagram.
Place a second symbol on the diagram and drag it underneath the first symbol until you see a dashed line auto-drawn between the two. Release your mouse; the two symbols will attach with a hierarchy line drawn between them.
2 To map an NSV-1 Resource Interaction Spec diagram to an NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy diagram, do this:
Open the NSV-1 Resource Interaction diagram and have it in focus.
Click Tools > NAF Utilities > Convert NSV-1 Resource Interaction Spec. to NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy.
3 To map some or all of the diagram to a flattened structure, with hierarchy described as symbols drawn in other symbols, do this:
Open the NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy diagram and have it in focus.
Click Tools > MODAF Utilities > Convert SV-1 Resource Hierarchy to SV-1 Resource Interaction Spec.
The following image shows an example of an NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy diagram.
The Resources that you draw on an NSV-1 Resource Hierarchy diagram are considered concrete resources. After drawing a resource, create a same-named resource definition and specify the concrete resource that it is implemented by in its definition.
