Running NPV-1 System Project Multiple Parent checks (NAF 3)
You can run a validation tool that searches for invalid relationships and warns you when these relationship types are found.
MODAF methodology does not permit System Project definitions to have more than one Parent. For example, a definition named “System Project_3” can not be a child definition for “System Project_2” and "System Project_4. In such a scenario, the check is violated and a report is generated listing the multiple parent definitions, as in the following message:
"The following System Projects have more than one Parent:
System Project_3
System Project_5"
1 Click Reports > MODAF Reports.
2 Select AcV-1 System Project Multiple Parent Check.
To eliminate multiple parent relationships listed in the report, open an NPV-1 diagram and disconnect the symbols defined by the definitions. Pulling one symbol away from the other removes the relationship line between them. Save the diagram for the changes to take affect.
