Strategy Maps and Balanced Scorecards
The Strategy Map diagram enables you to visually describe how your organization’s key Business Objectives align within the four Balanced Scorecard perspectives to support your corporate strategies. You map out key Business Objectives against the four Balanced Scorecard perspectives: your organization's financial perspective, what you want your customers’ perspective of your organization to be, your organization's internal process-oriented perspective, and your organization’s human-capital perspective.
Balanced Scorecards and Strategy Maps were formulated by Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton; Strategy Maps in particular are described in detail in Kaplan and Norton’s book, Strategy Maps, Converting Intangible Assets Into Tangible Outcomes.
