Course of action
In TOGAF 9.2, it is the direction and focus performed to achieve a Desired Result (delineated by strategic goals and objectives). According to the Business Motivation Model (BMM), a Course of Action is delineated by Strategy and Tactic. In System Architect’s TOGAF 9.2 implementation, you may specify Strategy and Tactic as “Courses of Action” – there is no “Course of Action” definition as such.
You may model Strategy and Tactics on a Business Model and an Enterprise Direction (Data Centric) diagram. If you turn on the Business Motivation Model (BMM) in the encyclopedia’s Customize Method Support dialog, Strategy and Tactic are renamed to BMM Strategy and BMM Tactic, and additional definitions of the BMM are provided in the encyclopedia’s metamodel.
