Business Capability Hierarchy
Hierarchical diagram of Business Capabilities, introduced with TOGAF 9.2. A diagram within which you can model Business Capabilities and their parent Business Capabilities, by connecting the child underneath the parent in a hierarchy. As soon as you place one Capability underneath another Business Capability, their definitions are appropriately changed – to show one is the parent, and one is the child.
This diagram is similar to the Capability Hierarchy – the difference is that this diagram enables you to model Business Capabilities, which is a separate metamodel concept than Capability. Capability is a more general concept than Business Capability; Capability is tied to Work Package; Business Capability is introduced with TOGAF 9.2 – it is related to many things in the TOGAF 9.2 metamodel (such as Value Stream, Function, and so on).
