Configuring Focal Point® for the Integration
There are two steps to integrating Focal Point®:
enable the web service
configure the workspace.
System Architect communicates with Focal Point® through a web service in Focal Point®. On the Focal Point® side, the integration requires the presence of workspace, where two separate views are setup to receive System Architect data.
To enable the web service
1 Login to the Focal Point® website using the credentials you are asked for during the installation. The URL is in the following format:
http://<webserver>:<portnumber>/fp/servlet/Login.
2 On the navigation menu, click Application > Data Access. Click Enable Web Services 1.0.
Configure the workspace
To facilitate this requirement for Application Portfolio Management, System Architectprovides a template that an administrator can import into the server. The template creates a workspace, with the default views (SA Criteria and SA Application) and all the properties you need to export data from System Architect. The template is only applicable to be used with the default Application Management profile provided by System Architect.
Always use the latest Focal Point® template provided with the version of System Architect you are using: see also Focal Point® troubleshooting tests and tips.
Workspaces in Focal Point® are usually configured by a user with the administrative privileges.
To create a workspace using the template provided by System Architect
1 From the Focal Point® home page, click General > Workspace Templates and import the Application Portfolio Management_SAFP.fpz template file. The file is in:
SA Installation path\Focal Point
where SA Installation path is the path where System Architect is installed.
2 Click General > Workspace Templates > Add Workspace. From the Add Workspace window, select Template: System Architect and complete the other necessary fields.
