Generating offline reports requires that you create report templates in the IBM Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio, and use the Rational Publishing Engine Launcher to generate the output. This option enables you to create reports through a flattened XML file.
To generate an offline report
1 In the Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio, click File > New, and then click Document Template.
2 In the Data Source Schemas tab, click the Add new data source icon. The Add Data Source Wizard is displayed.
3 Click Next.
4 Click the Schema type field and select Generic XML.
