Upgrading to System Architect 10.4 and later: Converting SA-DOORS link to SA-DOORS 2
Conversion procedure to upgrade encyclopedias to System Architect 10.4 and later
If you have been using the SA-DOORS interface to link model artifacts with IBM Rational DOORS objects, you must convert your encyclopedia for use with the SA-DOORS V2 interface, introduced with System Architect 10.4. To do so, perform these steps:
Note SAEM cannot perform standard functions on an encyclopedia residing on a remote server.
1 Backup the encyclopedia used with the SA-DOORS version 1 interface: run SAEM, connect to your server, choose the encyclopedia, and select Database > Backup.
2 In System Architect, open the encyclopedia that you want to convert.
3 In IBM Rational DOORS, open the database that the encyclopedia is associated with, and then select SA, Upgrade/Recover System Architect.
Updating IBM Rational DOORS-linked encyclopedias for System Architect 10.4 and later
If you have a System Architect 10.3 encyclopedia that are linked to IBM Rational DOORS, you must update that encyclopedia with SAEM to reestablish the link.
1 Backup the encyclopedia (see above).
2 Launch SAEM.
3 On the Tools menu, click Update DOORS. The message pane at the bottom of the SAEM window confirms your results.
4 Open the encyclopedia with System Architect 10.4 or later. The links should now be updated to work with System Architect 10.4 and later.
