Integrating : Focal Point® as an OSLC service consumer and service provider
Focal Point® as an OSLC service consumer and service provider
Focal Point® supports OSLC Change Management (OSLC-CM) and OSLC Requirement Management (OSLC-RM) specification, enabling integrations with other OSLC service provider and consumer applications.
Focal Point® as an OSLC service consumer
You can register Focal Point® as an OSLC consumer with any of the OSLC service provider application and enable data exchange between the applications. The following capabilities are supported by integrating Focal Point® with an OSLC provider application:
▪ create artifacts in the OSLC provider application from Focal Point®
▪ publish artifacts in bulk, with a single click instead of repeating the same operation for every artifact, from Focal Point® to OSLC provider application and establish bidirectional links
▪ link to artifacts in OSLC provider application from Focal Point®
▪ view linked artifact details by using rich hover and by clicking through to open
▪ exchange attribute values between Focal Point® and OSLC provider application artifacts.
To integrate Focal Point® with an OSLC provider application
Focal Point® version 6.6 and later has enhanced OSLC support for Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management applications and other OSLC consumer applications. As an OSLC Service Provider, Focal Point® provides delegated resource creation dialogs to create Focal Point® artifacts from OSLC consumer applications, and delegated resource selection dialogs to select Focal Point® artifacts from OSLC consumer applications.
As an OSLC provider, Focal Point® has these features:
▪ delegated resource creation dialog for OSLC consumer applications to create Focal Point® artifacts, and link to the new artifacts
▪ delegated resource selection dialog for OSLC consumer applications to select, link, and access the Focal Point® artifacts
▪ rich hover text to preview the Focal Point® linked artifacts from the OSLC consumer applications.
