In this lesson, you create a consumer key and secret on the IBM Rational solution for CLM server. This key is then used in Focal Point^® to establish a connection.

Prerequisites

1 Install IBM Rational solution for CLM.

2 Get yourself the IBM Rational solution for CLM administrator credentials.

3 To publish elements to the IBM Rational solution for CLM applications version 4.0, add this parameter:

com.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.AllowOSLCPutWithOutIfMatchHeader=true

to this file:

CLM_install_folder/server/conf/rm(context path)fronting.properties

Make sure to set this property even after you reinstall IBM Rational solution for CLM

Note You can skip this step for IBM Rational solution for CLM applications version 5.0 as they do not have the fronting.properties file.

Steps

1 Access the IBM Rational solution for CLM server configuration page of the Requirements Management application: in your web browser, navigate to:

https://<hostname>:<portnumber>/jts/admin

Click Jazz Team Server - Server Administration, and then click Manage Server.

2 In the navigation bar, click Consumers (Inbound).

3 In Consumer Secret, type FP. Type the secret again in Re-type Consumer Secret.

4 Click Register. The consumer key is generated.

5 Copy the consumer key and paste it in a text editor application such as Notepad. You need the key to add the application server as a friend in Focal Point^®.

6 Again, go to the server configuration page but this time, log in to the Change and Configuration Management application by pointing the browser to:

https://<hostname>:<portnumber>/jts/admin

and clicking Jazz Team Server - Server Administration.

7 Repeat steps 2 through 5.

You have generated the consumer keys by registering Focal Point^® as a consumer on the Jazz Team Server.
