Configuring languages
You can use MDM Label Manager to configure the properties of languages in an .mdd file. The changes you make here determine how the file appears to users of other applications, and what they can change in the file. You can:
Add and remove languages from an .mdd file. Adding a language makes it available for translation in the Translation Utility. Note that removing a language permanently removes all content for the language.
See Adding and removing languages.
Change the read/write properties of any language in the .mdd file, including the default language. The read/write properties control whether or not users of the Translation Utility can enter or edit text for the language.
See Setting read properties for a language.
Change the default language. The default language is used as the base language in the Translation Utility.
See Changing defaults.
Set up alternatives for a language. When you set an alternative for a language, text from the alternative language is automatically displayed in applications such as the Questionnaire Viewer or UNICOM Intelligence Reporter when no text exists for the original language.
See Setting alternative languages or contexts.
