Participant rules
Participant Rules is displayed in the application list whenever you choose a project that uses Sample Management. It allows you to perform the following tasks:
Changing the sample script: Change or debug a sample script and validate its syntax without having to reactivate the project.
Changing sample fields and authentication fields: Convert a column in the participant database into a Sample Field or Authentication Field.
Testing the script: Run a test interview using the revised script.
Starting participant rules
Select the project you want to work on and click Participant Rules.
Changing the sample script
1 On the Script tab, make whatever changes are necessary to the Sample Management script.
2 Optionally, click Validate to validate the script. This checks that the script is syntactically correct without you having the save the script first. A message appears above the script frame at the end of the validation process.
3 To save your changes, click Save.
If there are errors in the script, a message appears, and the original version of the script is reinstated.
Changing sample fields and authentication fields
1 Select the Columns tab.
2 To select new sample fields or to cancel existing sample fields, click in the Sample Field column.
3 To select new authentication fields or to cancel existing authentication fields click in the Authentication Field column.
Notes
All authentication fields must also be flagged as sample fields.
Queue, UserId, SampleId, StartTime, and Duration are reserved system field names and must not be set as authentication fields.
Testing the script
You can test how the Sample Management script will work by running a test interview. This enables you to check that any authentication of inbound calls works as intended, and that the script correctly handles records returned to it with different outcome codes.
Click Test.
Any unsaved changes are saved before the test interview is started.
